About 400 Republic Services sanitation workers, including dump truck drivers, went on strike Friday, a development that might disrupt trash service in 14 Orange County cities, including Seal Beach and Los Alamitos. The employees. members of Teamsters Local 396 went on strike as they accused management of making “unilateral changes without bargaining and threatening reprisals against employees who participate in union activity,” according to a statement from the union.
Although Los Alamitos’ contract is still running, the City Council approved a new contract last Monday which will commence at the start of the new year.
Rossmoor, as part of Orfange County, is served b CR&R, so would not be impacted.
