Laura Herzog has been a familiar figure around our area, going back to her time as the JFTB Public Information Officer when General James Combs was commanding the JFTB ten or so years ago.
It was during her tenure there that she found her passion for helping the families of service members who paid the ultimate price. Sensing that what the military provided was not enough, she founded Honoring Our Fallen and since 2011 she has helped more than 1,000 families who have lost a service member in combat, a training accident or suicide.
The OC Register listed Herzog as one of the county’s most influential persons in today’s paper.
