The Los Alamitos Griffins defense turned in another good showing but the offense again struggled and gave up points as Los Al lost its third straight contest of the season, falling 20-14 to Long Beach Poly on the Fox Sports Game of the Week. The Griffin losses have all been at the hands of strong teams and so there are bright spots in the seasonal darkness. (OC register columnist Steve Fryer called them the best 0-3 team in the county.) But the offense’s inability to score combined with its early-season propensity towards turnovers and surrendering points has to be a big concern for the Griffin coaching staff.
Los Al draws a much-needed bye next week and the returns to action in two weeks with a home match against Carson at Cerritos College.
