The Los Al Girls Beach Volleyball squad improved to 4-1 on their very first season by downing Newport Harbor 2-2 on Tuesday. The Beach ladies return to action Thursday against Laguna Beach.
The softball squad suffered a setback at Huntington Beach in their Sunset Surf League opener, falling 3-1 to their perennial Sunset Surf League rival Oilers. The Griffins, the No. ranked team in Orange County, fell to 10-4.

BOYS SPORTS: Tennis and Lacrosse off to good starts
The Griffins Boys Tennis team has started off the season with a 5-2-1 record. Their only losses were to perennial powers University (Irvine) and Mira Costa. They play Huntington Beach on Thursday and the Oilers will be seeking revenge after falling to Los Al 14-4 on March 14.
The Boys Lacrosse team has now won three matches in a row and will take a 6-4 record into Saturday’s match against Newport harbor. After getting thumped by St. Margaret’s 16-2 on March 12, the Griffins responded with three wins last week, downing Marina 18-1 on march 16, beating Crespi 9-4 last Friday, and then Westlake, 13-7, this past Monday. Los Al next plays against the St. John Bosco Varsity on Friday.
