The Los Al Boys basketball team take their 5-2 record into Tuesday’s first-round Beach Bash match against Santa Barbara.
Game time is 4:30 p.m. on the Corona Del Mar court. If they win they would play the winner of the Tesoro-Redondo Union game. That match would be at &:30pm Wednesday night at Newport Harbor High. Complete brackets can be seen below.
This will be the first match for Los Al since they thumped Long Beach Wilson 73-19 in a road victory last Wednesday night. The Griffins were led in scoring by Tyler Matthews who had 13 points and Rob Voigt added 10 points as well.
Earlier this season the Griffins went 3-1 in the season-opening Jim Harris tournament at Ocean View.
GIRLS BASKETBALL:
The Los Al Girls basketball team, which opened the season with a 5-1 record, returns to action next Saturday with a home match against canyon. Varsity plays at 2:00, while the JVs play the opener at 12:30,
