GRIFFIN SPORTS: Softball downs La Serna, 5-3

No. 2 Los Alamitos parlayed a four-run third inning into a 5-4 victory over La Serna and improve their record to 2-0 on the season.

Makenzie Kimura led the Griffin offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Jamie Sellers also doubled and drove in two runs.

The Griffins led 5-0 after three innings but coach Rob Weil had to go through four pitchers to hold the lead. Eventually Bailey Taylor got the victory, tossing 3.1 innings and allowing just two hits, one run and a walk. Tyler Denhart allowed a hit and a run in the seventh to nail down the save.
