The controversies seem to never end for the Los Alamitos School Board. Parents at Weaver School are upset that male adult counselors who identify as “they/them” were allowed to stay overnight and sleep in the cabins occupied by fifth grade girls during Winter Science Camp week.
Whether any district or school officials were aware of this beforehand is not known. ut the camp operator (Pali Adventures) told KTLA5 they are merely following anti-discrimination state laws and “place staff in cabins they identify with.” [Bad English, but you get the point]
LAUSD administrators are now doing an investigation, but word of the sleeping situation is already showing up on websites catering to parental frustration.
