The 562 sports site reports that Long Beach State has parted ways with womens volleyball coach Joy Fuerbinger well-known local volleyball coach Joy McKienzie-Fuerbringer and top assistant coach Matt Fuerbringer, five weeks before the end of the season. 49er athletic director Andy Fee said the move, effective immediately, was made because of performance issues–the first time he’s made a coaching change midseason for that reason.
McKenzie-Feurbringer is well known in local tyouth volleyball circles as the director of the director of the Mizuno Volleyball Club, one of the top clubs in the state.
