Local Rowers glide through; Nick Trojan makes U.S. National team and Noah Cours finishes 6th at youth Nationals.

Local rowers continued to impress on the national and international scenes.  Rossmoor’s Nick Trojan (Los Al HS ’09) and his partner Andrew Campbell earned spots on the 2019 U.S. National Team by winning the lightweight doubles (LM2x) which were held in Princeton, New Jersey in mid-May.  The two plan on taking it one race at a time as they look forward to representing Team USA at this year’s Championships which will be held August 25-September 1 in Switzerland.

Andrew Campbell and Nick Trojan earned their spots on the 2019 U.S. National Team and will represent Team USA at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in the lightweight men’s double!

 

Meanwhile, at the younger levels, Los Alamitos High sophomore Noah Cours and his teammate, Amar Bhatia, reached the finals of the Lightweight Men’s Youth Doubles at the U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals held at Sarasota, Florida, June 6-9.  Cours is a sophomore at Los Alamitos High School. Bhatia, 17, is a junior at Laguna Beach High School and both row for Newport Seabase Rowing.

Los Alamitos Student Places 6th at U.S. Youth Rowing Nationals

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Los Alamitos resident Noah Cours and his teammate, Amar Bhatia, were finalists and placed sixth overall at the U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals held at Sarasota, Florida, June 6-9. The two-person team represented Newport Seabase Rowing in the Lightweight Men’s Youth Doubles, and eliminated top teams from across the the nation in timed trials, and semi-finals over the course of the week.
