It was another fruitful trip to the Show Choir National Championships at Nashville’s Fames Grand Old Opryhouse for the Los Al Show Choir as the team came back with four championship trophies.
Los Alamitos High School Sound FX choir were the National Grand Champions in the Advanced Mixed category, also winning trophies for Outstanding Vocals, Outstanding Choreography, Outanding Female Soloist (Danielle Barron) and Outstanding Male Soloists (Adam Jorge and Alessandro Briseño-Tapia).
The girls choir (Soundtrax) had already won a national title trophy the day before, collecting additional awards for Outstanding Visuals, Outstanding Vocals, and Outstanding Soloist (Jay Garcia).
Even though Los Al has now won eight national titles over the past 10 years, for the 45 seniors in the program, this was their one big shot to perform on the Opryland stage, due to Covid limitations the past two years.
The Show Choir is directed by David Moellenkamp & Moana Dherlin. Assisted by Cara Jennings & Heather Hoppus, combo directed by Eddy Clement, arranged by Josh Greene and choreographed by April James.
