The award-winning Los Alamitos High Song and Cheer squads will be giving their annual exhibition this Saturday in the Griffin gym. The team’s Instagram page noted “Come see us perform firsthand at our Exhibition and see what we are all about. See any Spiritleader for tickets or go to www.losalsongandcheer.com“
The event is one of the final performances of the year for the spirit squads, as clinics and tryouts for the 2022-23 will soon follow. The final tryouts are on April 9. Those interested should visit the website and download the Tryout Packet.
The Varsity Song squad won a National Championship the Pom category at the National Dance Team Championships in February! Besides their national title in Pom, they became 4-peat champs in Game Day and finished 3rd in the nation in the jazz category. The Siong squad is coached by Jennifer Ramirez and Patrice Barakat coaches jazz choreography
Not to be outdone, the varsity Cheer squad won a CIF-Southern Section championship in the Advanced Division!
The JV squad also brought home some banners — winning a pair of National Championships by winning first place in the Game Day and Small JV Pom categories.
Before their departure, the school’s ASB crew gave the Song squad a fitting departure.
