She hasn’t been a secret to volleyball fans of the Los Al Griffins or Nebraska Cornhuskers — both of whom she led to championships seasons, but now as a starting libero for the US Olympic Women’s Volleyball team, Justine Wong-Orantes (LAHS ’13) is getting the feature article treatment from the LA Times.
Wong-Orantes and the US Women downed China 29-27, 25-22, 25-21, Tuesday to improve to 2-0 in pool play. The U.S. team plays Turkey on Thursday.
And Wong-Orantes’ volleyball teammate at Los Al High, Rachel Fattal (LAHS ’11) scored two goals to help the US women’s water polo team to a 12-7 win over China. The women’s water polo team is also 2-0 in pool play and will play Hungary on Thursday.
