Gene and Blair Pietrini, and son Landon, have brought an authentic sense of Italy to Los Alamitos with the opening of their Pietrini’s Italian Napoletana Pizza restaurant.
Blair is a long-time resident of the area, a Los Al alum with connections to Cottonwood Church and Graceful Hearts charity. Gene grew up in Chicago in a Sicilian family and definitely knows his Italian pizza, a passion rekindled when Blair bought him his own pizza stone in the mid-1980s. Their son, Landon, inherited the appreciation of all things pizza and perfected it by attending the well-known Tony Gemignani’s International School of Pizza in San Francisco to become a certified Pizzaiolo (pizza maker).
The Event-News Enterprise has a nice story on the restaurant and its formal ribbon-cutting in coordination with the Los Al and Cypress Chambers of Commerce.
And the Epoch Times did a feature last year on Gene and Landon as they prepared to open their restaurant.
