The No. 4 Oilers turned their confidence into reality by upsetting the Griffins 5-2 to create a tie atop the Sunset League and post a rare victory at Los Alamitos.
The Oilers used a five-run sixth inning to knock out undefeated ace Sarah Ladd (22-1) and give the Oilers their first win at Los Alamitos (23-2, 8-1) for the first time in at least 14 seasons.
