District One run-off election ballots due by Jan. 29
The run-off election for the District One (Old Town and Surfside) seat of the Seal Beach City Council is happening now, with district voters receiving mail-in ballots last weekend. They need to be turned in to City hall or be mailed to the Orange County Registrar of Voters office by Jan. 29.
A political ad’s misleading use of a Sun News story
An attack ad against City Council candidate Joe Kalmick which apparently distorts facts and misrepresents a Sun newspaper article prompts the paper’s editorial staff to call out the “California Taxpayer Protection Committee” who apparently are supporting Kalmick’s opponent, Peter Amundson in the pair’s runoff race for the District 1 council seat.
