WATER POLO: Los Al HS player Bayley Weber helps US National team to win over China

Los Alamitos High School defender Bayley Weber, made the most of her chances in her first experience with the U.S. women’s water polo team at the FINA Women’s Intercontinental Tournament at UC Davis.

Webera junior defender for the Griffins, had an assist in a 10-5 victory over China.  The  next day she had two assists as the U.S. Women defeated Japan 10-6.

The U.S. improved to 4-0 in the six-team tournament, the team’s first competition since winning the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics. It was also the Americans 25th straight win dating back to 2016 when it was 40-2.

Weber, led Los Al to a Sunset League title and was the Press-Telegram’s Dream Team Player of the Year.  She was also first team All-CIF and was named to the OC Register’s All-County team.  Weber is also a standout swimmer, specializing in the 100-yard butterfly.
