Council returns to Chambers after two years
The Monday, March 28, 2022, Seal Beach City Council meeting was the first in-person meeting in more than two years. A review of council video archives shows the previous in-person public meeting was held March 9, 2020. Masking was optional for both the public and city officials.
The majority of participants in an online Sun poll voted that the return to in-person meetings was “way overdue.”

Main Street permit to be heard again
The Planning Commission will have to hold another hearing on the permit for a proposed real estate office on the ground floor of the 100 block of Main Street.
A Sun reader’s question led to the discovery that the city did not publish the required public notice for initial public hearing. The city manager confirmed this was due to a staff error in a March 24 email.

A centenarian amongst us – Virginia Haley marks two milestones
Seal Beach has a resident like no other in Virginia Haley. Not only is she celebrating a special 105th birthday on Friday, March 25, but she is also celebrating her 100th year as a Seal Beach resident. We are honored to celebrate her legacy and these two extraordinary milestones.
