Los Al volleyball alum Julia Patterson became the ninth player in University of Arizona school history to register 2,000 career assists when the junior setter notched over 7 assists in a pair of games over the weekend.
The 23rd-ranked Wildcats downed Oregon State Friday night then fell in four sets to 16th-ranked Oregon on Sunday afternoon. In the latter match, Patterson registered her fourth straight double-double (assists and digs) and 12th of the season, tying for the Pac-12 lead.
Patterson, a 2016 graduate of Los Al, was the Press Telegram Player of the Year of the Year as a senior. She was also a starting setter on the Griffins CIF champion team in her sophomore year.
Last year, in her first year as the ‘Cats starting setter, she finished fifth in the Pac-12, averaging 10.14 assists/set.
