FC Fire, the boys under-12 AYSO champ from Region 159, remained undefeated as they won four of four soccer contests and capped it off with a victory over Garden Grove (Region 28) to win the Area E playoffs.
Previously, Fire had gone undefeated in the Area 159 (Los Al-Rossmoor-Seal Bach) Fall season to qualify for the Regional Championships, which were held in Whittier. Area E covers eight regions: Garden Grove, Cerritos, West Garden Grove, Whittier, La Habra, Cypress, and Los Alamitos-Seal Beach-Rossmoor, and Long Beach-Belmont Shore.
As champions, FC Fre will advance to the Section 11 playoffs to be held in February.
Team members include Zain Gheorghe, Grant Babcock, Beckett Preall, Chris Landeros, Caleb Rafuse, Greyson Gallagher, Alex Landeros, Jacob Arias, Conner Hammerschmidt, Luke Lewandowski, Carter Frogner, and Aiden Brannon. They are coached by Jon Rafuse and Josh Brannon.
