Chelsea Linton was crowned as the 2019 Miss Seal Beach before an enthusiastic Sunday afternoon crowd at the Los Alamitos High School Performing Arts Center on March 31, 2019.
Linton, the reigning Miss Teen Seal Beach for 2018, was joined on the Miss Seal Beach court along with her court members Isabel Tuman and Delysia Sanchez.
Savannah Smith received the crown for Miss Teen Seal Beach, edging out Breezy Wehring and Hallie Alcantar was named Jr. Miss Seal Beach. Joining her on the court are fellow Jr. Miss Seal Beach Court contestants Skylar Bachelor and Maddie Mark.
The contest was produced by the Seal Beach-based non-profit, “Be the Good.”
The court will spend the next 12 months serving the community as ambassadors supporting all major events in Seal Beach, including ribbon cuttings, mixers, the Car Show, Thanksgiving breakfast at St. Anne’s, Christmas Tree lighting, Leisure World Expo, Run Seal Beach, Band on the Sand and the Chili Cook Off on Main.
“Be the Good” has also branched out to support Ronald McDonald House next to Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, where the girls prepare brunch each month for the families whose children are receiving treatment. They also visit the VA hospital in Long Beach where the girls coordinate bingo with the patients where they are able to win canteen vouchers, allowing them to shop at the hospital’s general store where they can purchase food, toiletries and even clothing.
“Be the Good” is an organization that offers the young women of the community the ability to get in front of city leaders and business owners, giving them skills needed in the future. Director Rosie Ritchie said, it’s a great feeling when we receive letters and emails from past ladies/members sharing how this experience has polished their skills landing jobs, college acceptance letters and various life goals upon leaving the program. The members/girls are committed to a 12-month term where they serve as city ambassadors receiving over 250 community service hours.
