Is it a legitimate concern or much ado about nothing?
The Orange County Board of Education wants to host two town halls on the controversial topic of ethnic studies in Rossmoor’s Rush Park auditorium this summer, and some residents are worried about the attention (“the circus atmosphere” said one) and/or the crowd it will bring to their quiet bedroom community this summer.
The county’s Board of Education voted June 2 to hold two forums, on July 27 and Aug. 24, in Rossmoor’s Rush Park auditorium because it can accommodate more people than the boardroom in the Orange County Department of Education in Costa Mesa.
One opponent of the town hall expressed concerns that far-right organizations could be fighting in their front yard.
The OC Register has the story.
