The Los Al Griffins turned in a second disappointing performance, falling to Vista Murrietta 24-12 on Friday night. Los Al is now 0-2 on the season. Vista Murrietta is 1-0.
Once again, the Griffins again scored first, this time on a 98-yard fumble return by Cochese Bradshaw, but, like last week, the Los Al offense could only generate a single touchdown thereafter. That might have been enough but the visiting Broncos blocked three Griffin punts, returning two for touchdowns.
Senior quarterback Cade McConnell threw his fourth and fifth interceptions of the season in the first half. Highly-touted freshman quarterback Malachi Nelson replaced him in the second half. Making matters worse Griffin starting runningback Oscar Brown V went out with a knee injury in the first half and did not return to the game.
The Orange County Register has a complete account of the game.
