The Los Alamitos girls soccer team clinched its first Sunset league championship since 2013 thanks to freshman Khalia Gathright’s first goal of the season which gave them a 1-0 victory over arch-rival Edison Tuesday night
The victory improved the Griffins record to 6-0-2 in league play and 22-2-2 overall. They are currently ranked No. 2 in the CIF-SS Division I rankings.
The girls return to action tonight against Marina. It is Senior Night for Los Al.
