Los Alamitos Girls soccer players Tabitha LaParl, Colby Barnett and Jayden Newkirk wer all named to the All-CIF Division I squad which was announced Tuesday by the CIF and the LA84 Foundation.
LaParl and Barnett are sophomore forward/midfielders while Newkirk is a junior center back.
LaParl led the Griffins in scoring with 31 goals this year. She now has the all-time griffin scoring record with 54 goals in her two seasons. She also had 16 assists. Barnett led the Griffins with 18 assists on the year, to go along with her 17 goals. Newkirk was an anchor on the Griffins back line which recorded 24 shutouts on the season.
Only CIF champion JSerra had more players on the squad – earning four spots, with forward Isabella D’Aquila earning Player of the Year honors and Coach Greg Baker getting the coach’s trophy.
Los Al finished the season with a 28-2-4 record. Their only two losses came to JSerra in the CIF and So
