Demitrious Tanks and Jack Nishimoto each scored a goal to lead the Los Al Boys Soccer team to a 2-1 win at Fountain Valley Friday afternoon. Wiith the win, Los Al improves to 11-5-1 overall and remains 3-0 in Sunset Surf League play. The Griffins host Newport Harbor on Wednesday.
In younger levels, the Griffin JV won 2-1 and the Frosh-Soph lost 2-1.
Boys Basketball: Griffin down Laguna Beach 52-42
Los Al Boys Basketball team began the cross-conference portion of its schedule with a 53-42 road win over Laguna Beach Friday night to improve its overall record to 17-6.
The Griffins are 2-1 in Surf League play. Their only Surf league loss was a 42-33 homecourt loss to Edison on January 13, but they’ll get a rematch against the Chargers on January 31 at the Chargers court. But first, they resume play this week with home games against Corona Del Mar and Fountain Valley and then play Servite next Saturday morning at the Mater Dei Showcase.
The Griffins are currently ranked No. 12 in the OC Register’s Top 25.
