The Los Al Girls Soccer team will host Millikan in a second-round match in the CIF Division I playoffs on Wednesday evening at Los Al.  Game time is 6pm.

The game will be a chance for revenge for the Griffins who fell to Millikan 2-1 in their season opener.  The Rams bring an 18-3-2 mark into the match. Los Al is 16-4-5.

Los Al advanced to the second round thanks to a 3-1 win over Saugus on Saturday evening.  Juniors Katie Piburn, Sanaa Guyness and Freshman Viviana Zacarias each scored, while senior Mimi Abusham collected a pair of assists.  Los The damage could have been worse as Al had twenty shots on goal, but Saugus keeper Rebecca Lim recorded 17 saves.

Unfortunately, the Girls soccer squad is the only Griffin team to be moving on in the winter CIF playoffs.  The Girls Water Polo fell to Foothill 7-6 in the Open Division.  The Griffins finished the season with a 20-7 record.

In CIF Division I playoff play, the Boys Soccer squad gave up two late goals to San Clemente in a 5-3 setback. Los Al ended its season with a 9-7 mark.

The Los Al Boys basketball team tried their best to make it through to the next round, but lost a tough matchup on the road, falling to Santa Margarita 72-65.  The Eagles led 58-42 midway through the fourth quarter but a Los Al rally led by Tyler Matthews cut the lead to 69-65 with 16 seconds to go, but the Eagles held on.  Mathews finished with 31 points, and Los Al finished the season with a 20-8 record.
