The Los Alamitos Girls Volleyball team improved its season record to 5-1 with a 3-2 win over Cypress Thursday afternoon on the Centurion’s court. (25-18, 25-20, 27-29, 26-28, 15-12)
Los Al senior outside attack led the offense, with Abby Karich getting 23 kills, followed by . Kameryn Parsonage with 16. Middle blocker Cambia Grant added 5. Junior setter Allie Livingston garnered 43 assists.
Los Al won the first two games 25-18, 25-20 but then Cypress rallied with two extra-round wins, before the Griffins put it away 15-13 in the final set.
Senior libero Jacinda Ramirez added five assists, and led the defense with 18 digs. Riley Beyma added 14 digs, and Kiley Osgood had 11. Beyma and Osgood had six and four aces, respectively.
The Griffins open Sunset Conference play next Thursday against Marina. They open Surf league play against Corona Del Mar on the 19th. The Sunset-Surf League teams are Corona Del Mar, Edison, Huntington Beach and Los Alamitos. The Wave League consists of Fountain Valley, Laguna Beach, Marina and Newport Harbor.
