GRIFFIN SPORTS REPORT: Los Al Girls BB goes to 3-0, advance to tourney championship; Boys soccer falls

The Los Al Girls Basketball team remained undefeated and notched its third win of the season, downing Woodbridge 85-37 in the third round game of the South Cast Classic.  

Sophomore Latavia Miller scored 30 points to lead Los Alamitos who will play Box Hill, Australia in the championship final at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Junior point guard Sydney Gandy added 15 points and seven steals and soph Molly Clarke doled out 11 assists.   for Los Al. Erika Maggard led Woodbridge with 23 points.

Junir ppoint guard Sydney Gandy again led the team with 19 points.  Fellow junior, forward Maya Montez had 11 points. Sophomore Sumya Evans scored 8 and Latavia Miller added 7. 

BOYS SOCCER

Hart scored in the closing minutes of the second half, sending the Los Al Varsity Boys Soccer Team to a 2-1 defeat on the victors field.  The score had been 1-01 at halftime.  The loss dropped the Griffins into a a third place pool finish in the Aliso Cup.  That sent them to the Presidents Cup 8am match against E.l Dorado.  They would next play the winner-or loser of the Bell Gardens Yorba Linda match. 

Also at Hart, the Frosh-=Soph notched their first win of the season, downing Hart by a same 2-1 score.
