The Los Alamitos girls soccer team improved its Sunset League record to 2-0 and its overall record to 11-0-1 with a 3-0 victory at Fountain Valley High Thursday afternoon.
Tabi LaParl got Los Al on the board in the 22nd minute, when she made a spin move to gain an open look then finished with a left-footed line drive to the far right corner.
Madi Reid’s goal in the 38th minute gave the Griffins a 2-0 halftime lead and Colby Barnett finished the scoring with a goal in the 68th minute. The Los Al defense, anchored by freshman keeper Reezyn Turk, recorded its 10th shutout in 12 matches.
The Lady Griffins are slated to host Bishop Amat on Saturday evening before taking time off for Christmas then returning to action next Thursday with the always tough Excalibur Tournament, of Champions, hosted by Foothill High School. Instead of elimination play, that event also now begins with two games of pool play. On Thursday morning, Los Al takes on Steele Canyon HS and finishes pool play against Cypress that evening. This year’s event will be played at the Silverlakes complex in Norco.

The Los Alamitos Girls Basketball team racked up an impressive 73-34 win over Fountain Valley Thursday night. The win improved Los Al’s season record to 11-3 and Sunset League mark to 2-0. Fountain valley dropped to 8-6.
