They were five hard-working dances – two in their 20s, three teenagers — who had just finished a long day of practice at the Pacific Academy of Dance. They were headed for a “Gal-entine’s” dinner in Seal Beach when a speeding vehicle crashed into their car.
All five were originally knocked unconscious. All went to the hospital. Three broke bones. One, a Japanese exchange student, had lost her phone and no one knew how to contact her family back in Japan.
But the community rallied and has already raised $44,000 to help with their medical bills,
with other fundraisers already planned. The LA Times has a good article of how their friends and dance directors, David and Renee Kim, responded . Check it out here.
