The Los Al Girls Volleyball team dropped the first set but rallied to win the next three and score an impressive 3-1 road win over Long Beach Wilson (26-28, 25-13, 25-18, 25-19). Senior outside hitter Kamryn Parsonage (shown above) recorded 20 kills, Riley Beyma had 11 digs, and Allie Livington Livingston had 35 assists to lead the Griffins.
The Griffins improved their season record to 2-1 and next play on Thursday against Santa Margarita at 5pm in the annual Sunset League-Trinity League Showdown. The match wll be played at Orange Lutheran.
The OC Register came out with its 2019 volleyball preview, and it has Los Al at No. 6. Mater Dei is No. 1. Los Al’s Abby Karich, the 2018 Division II Player of the Year, is on the paper’s Top 10 Players to watch list.
In the preliminary matches, the JVs capped off a comeback win with an ace while the frosh-Soph dropped a close match.
