The June 28, 2017 edition of the News-Enterprise carried a nice article on former Los Al HS rower Brianna Wynne who is continuing to do well in her sport at the University of Wisconsin. (The N-E finally put it online and you can see it here. )
Wynne, a member of the Griffin Class of ’14 who will be entering her senior year at Wisconsin, was recently named to the 2017 Pocock Lightweight All-America Team by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
She grew up in Rossmoor and attended Lee Elementary, Oak Junior High School. It was while at Oak that she joined the Long Beach Junior Crew where she rowed for the next five years.
During those years, she was part of the LBJC squad which won a national title. She also won the San Diego crew classic twice in the lightweight division.
She also finished fourth in the Head of the Charles in a lightweight four team. She also raced a single at the Head of the Charles as a 15 year old.
