Who doesn’t like free tacos?! The Youth Center is bringing an exciting event to our community. The Center’s open house is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 and will feature a basketball shootout, ping pong and pool tournaments, corn hole competition, artists corner, tetris championship, and more. Free tacos, burritos, taquitos, and chips and salsa will be available to all children who show their school ID. There will be games, contests, and prizes for children.
All interested students and parents can come to The Youth Center at 10909 Oak St from 3 – 4 pm. While the guests enjoy their free tacos, they can learn about programs The Youth Center offers for children of all ages. The community is well aware of the programs that The Youth Center has provided since 1952 like After School Program, Music Academy, and camps. Some programs have remained a hidden gem, including ViewU, tutoring, Prep For Success workshops, Girls in STEM, and more. The open house will take place until 4:30 pm.
“I am so excited for the free tacos event. I have learned about The Youth Center while doing my internship through Cypress College, I have learned that a lot of people don’t know everything that this wonderful organization provides to the local community,” shared Amanda Hernandez, “come join us, enjoy a free taco, and learn about some programs that your children might be missing out on.” This event would not be possible without Transitions in Motherhood and American Legion Post 716 who helped secure donations and prepare food.
