Farnaz Pardasani named McGaugh Hero of the Heart
Farnaz Pardasani was announced as the recipient of the J.M. McGaugh Elementary School’s Hero of the Heart for 2021. The announcement was made by McGaugh Principal Dr. Isaaic M. Gates.
LAHS freshman takes top science honor at OC Engineering
LAHS Freshman, Arjun Ghosh, earned first place in the Senior Division of Pharmacology/Toxicology in the 2021 Orange County Science & Engineering Fair. Arjun’s project was titled, Investigating Effective Alternatives to Silver-based Pressure Sore Treatments and Other Novel Applications of Gold and Copper Nanoparticles. His grandfather recently underwent a major surgery and developed a pressure sore on his lower back (tailbone) that dug deep into his skin to the point where the bone was visible.
Los Alamitos High School nurse nominated for OC Award
Los Alamitos High School Nurse, Cassandra Palacios, has been selected as one of the six finalists for the Orange County Classified School Employee of the Year (CSEY) program. Her selection in the Health and Student Services category represents her exemplary efforts in the areas of school and community involvement, leadership, and customer care.
Ms. Palacios will now be nominated to the California Department of Education for consideration as a statewide finalist.
