Former Sun editor Dixie Redfearn passed away on July 22 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Dixie was a longtime resident of Seal Beach, mother of two daughters, a former Brownie troop leader and president of the Seal Beach PTA, but she was also a respected journalist for many regional and local publications before she took over the Sun job in 2017, stepping down two years later due to worsening cancer.
