The undefeated Los Alamitos High Girls Soccer team came within one minute of not being to able to claim that anymore. But Madison Reid’s goal in the final minute pulled the Griffins into a 3-3 tie with Edison in a Surf League contest Thursday afternoon on the Los Al turf field.

Edison jumped ahead but Khalia Gathright tied things up for Los Alamitos in the 33rd minute.

Early in the second half, sophmore Tabitha LaParl scored her 23rd goal of the season to give Los Al a 2-1 lead. But Edison answered with two more and a 3-2 lead which set up Reid’s late game heroics.

LaParl’s goal now gives her 46 in her career, and puts her just six short of the school’s all-time record of 52, set by Liz Willemse in 1991.

Los Al now has a 19-0-4 record overall and are 2-0-1 in Surf League play. They have three games left in regular season play and at least one playoff match.
