The OC Register reports that long-time Los Alamitos High girls water polo coach Dave Carlson, a three-time Orange County coach of the year, has been placed on administrative leave from coaching the Griffins but remains a teacher at the school. Carlson has been coaching at Los Al for over 20 years, and has been a teacher of history and military history.
Carlson’s absence was first noted via a letter to district families about summer camp opportunities. The e-mail did not explain Carlson’s absence, but Carlson told the Register’s Dan Albano that “I’m in good spirits and confident that this will be resolved soon.”
