No Drama for Los Al Drama after winning big honors at MetFest competition

The Los Alamitos High School Advanced Drama team scored top honors at MetFest, a recent major regional theater competition held at Montclair High School. 

The Los Al team won second place overall with its production of “The Entire American Revolution in 20 Minutes or Less.”  and also won the Audience Favorite prize.  

In addition, Melanie Tanaka took home a trophy as one of the Top 4 performers in the competition, and actors Danny Bird, Connor Franzen and Louie Gallagher were named Outstanding Performers.

MetFest is the popular name for the Montclair/Etiwanda Theatre Festival.  The competition , which involved 15 schools presenting a one-act play for a panel of judges, took place at Montclair High School on December 8 .

“I am so proud of our kids! They were amazing,” said Stacy Castiglione, chair of the Los Alamitos High performing arts department. “This is the second year that Los Al has participated and the second year that we have received top honors.”

The drama unit also helped out in the Instrumental Music’s production of A Christmas Carol this past Tuesday night.
