Tim Grobaty of the Press-Telegram ran a nice column on the sale of Patty’s Place, the beloved Seal Beach restaurant at 500 Pacific Coast Highway to a group of familiar Long Beach businessmen and restaurateurs.
As of September 1, gone will be retiring long-time (20-years) owners Patty and Ron Sesler and in will be a group that includes John Morris, who started Legends and is now a partner and current general manager of Boathouse on the Bay; Barry Clifford, (longtime GM of the late, lamented Kelly’s in Naples); business partners Eric Johnson and Dave Copley who own the Auld Dubliner and are the managing partners of Legends, O’Malley’s and Boathouse on the Bay; and financial partners Bruce DD Mac Rae, vice president of State Government Affairs for UPS; Dave Erickson, founder and CEO/president of FreeConferenceCall.com; Josh Lowenthal, son of politicians Alan and Bonnie Lowenthal and chief operating officer for FreeConferenceCall.com. Erickson and Lowenthal are also among the partners who own Boathouse on the Bay.
