Ourrossmoor.com, the Rossmoor Homeowners Association website, reports that beginning June 26th, Golden State Water will shift from Stage 1 conservation to Stage 2. The Los Alamitos Summer Concert series on Pine Street continues this week with a performance by Woodie & the Longboards, an in-demand tribute acts that performs all of the hits of the Beach Boys and more songs from the era you love.
Bring the family out to enjoy live music and wonderful food on a cool summer night, as you visit one of our many delicious food vendors and listen to local bands. The concerts are from 6:30 – 8:00pm. Remember to bring your own chairs and blankets to sit on.

Rec Department to celebrate Parks Make Life Better month
The city’s Parks an Recreation Department will be celebrating Parks Make Life Better Month in July with a number of activities for individuals, pets and families at various locations around the city.
Among the activities scheduled are a dog park at Laurel Park, a flower seed giveaway, organized workouts courtesy of Tribe Functional Fitness to get your body moving, multiple family days and free pickup sports. Get more details here.

The latest Heal the Bay beach report card is in and the Seal Beach beaches get good grades on two out of three categories. The complete Heal the Bay report card for 2021-22, which tracks water quality at 500 beaches in the state, is in the OC Register.

Budget among items on June 27 SB Council agenda
The Seal Beach City Council will hold public hearings on Seal Beach’s budget and on the bidding threshold for Public Works contracts on Monday, June 27. The meeting will be held online due to an outbreak among City Hall employees.
SB City Council OKs emergency waterline relocation
The Seal Beach council on June 13 ratified the Public Works director’s emergency relocation of an I-405 waterline improvement as part of the Consent Calendar.
Smart lockers to be installed on the beach in proposed pilot program
At its June 13 meeting, the City Council approved an agreement with Brevvie LLC to put smart lockers next to Seal Beach Lifeguard Headquarters and rent them to visitors. A date for the start of the pilot project has not yet been announced.
FUNDRAISING: Song & Cheer checks out Wahoo’s
Over 15 local nonprofit groups are participating in a communal fundraiser organized through the new DGS mobile app. Yesterday, part of the Song & Cheer squad (the part that wasn’t away at camp) went en masse to Wahoo’s in Los Alamitos to scarf their favorite Mexican-Asian food. Wahoo’s, like all the businesses participating in the campaign, is returning 20% of any purchase back to the participating nonprofit/booster club.
In addition to Song & Cheer, six other Los Al High related groups as well as some community nonprofits including St. Isidore Historical Plaza, Grateful Hearts and others.
DGS stands for Do Good & Save and is a partnership between Cty611, a company which makes mobile apps for cities, and OUR Los Al, which encouraged Cty611 to come to this area and work through the local nonprofits instead of the cities.
