Kim Dwinnell and the Surfside Girls

One-time Disney animator Kim Dwinell — whose animation work has been seen on Mulan, Hercules, and many other projects — has entered the graphic novel field with her first effort The Surfside Girls: The Secret of Danger Point.   It takes advantage and the local history of the coves and inlets of Anaheim and Alamitos Bays as rum runner drop off points.

Kim is now teaching fine art at Long Beach State, and when she isn’t surfing she even finds  some time to keep a blog and a website.

Zack Smith’s complete interview with Kim can be read in Newsarama.
